WORLD SOCIAL WORK DAYS

2009-10

The dates for World Social Work Day (WSWD) have been decided — the third Tuesday in March every year. This means that the next 2 WSWD will be as follows:

17 March 2009

16 March 2010

The theme for both days will be linked to the global consultation preceding the 2010 World Conference in Hong Kong which will help set the world social agenda for the next decade

'Social Work and Social Development: The Agenda'

Everybody can join in World Social Work Day - it belongs to us all. Make your own arrangements and feel connected to the world of social work — all we ask is that you let IFSW know about your plans and that you send us a report.

IFSW will issue briefing material for member organisations and others wishing to join the growing number of participants in WSWD. This will be available later in the year.

2008

Social Workers around the World joined together to celebrate the Second World Social Work (WSWD) Day April 15, 2008. This annual event is held to focus on social work's contributions to society and be part of an ongoing dialogue with all partners on how challenges linked to social conditions can met by communities.
