Promotion of the Profession

Goals
* To promote social work to organizations and to the public at international levels.
* That global and regional bodies, the media and general public understand, value and support the contribution of social workers to society .

Strategies
  • To describe the current situation/perception of social work in countries where IFSW members exist
  • To identify the barriers and issues that impact on the position/perception of the social work profession.
  • To recommend and facilitate implementation of strategies to promote and support positive professional identity among social workers.
  • To facilitate implementation of strategies to promote social work to employers, professional partners and the public.

The Convener of the Promotion of the Profession group is Veronica Marsman from Canada, IFSW Member-at-Large for North America and also President of the Canadian Association of Social Workers
